Mammoth

Our wooly friend developed thick layers of shaggy hair to protect him from the cold of the high Arctic. The exceptionally long tusks were, perhaps, used to push aside snow to get at vegetation below. There’s also some evidence that they were used as a “trunk rest.” Who knew?!
